This
week is all about perspective, or rather, being open-minded enough to enlighten
your perspective. Receiving information and gathering knowledge is an import
part of our maturation process, though it’s through broadening the channels
from where it’s distributed that can open a person up to greater tolerance of
others and a stronger sense of culpability in how our actions may affect others.
It
reminds me of a few decades back when I first started working in San Francisco.
Keep in mind that this was way before “googling it” would have any meaning
other than something potentially dirty. We weren’t anywhere near being a global
community back then, and that concept wasn’t yet in the general mindset. Up to
that point I had been pretty sequestered in what felt to me a little bland box
of suburbia. Not to disrespect anyone and where they choose to live – I know a
lot of people who live in the area still and love it – but as one who always
felt out of step with that particular culture, it was constricting. Getting
into a more metropolitan environment subjected me to a much wider array of
cultures than I had ever experienced before. It opened my eyes in a way that
made me not view differences as “weird”, but just as differences. And in doing
so, I eventually found my place in the world.
I’ve
also learned that no matter who you are, there’s always room to enlighten that
perspective a little more. And that it’s those that feel they have all of the
answers that are the ones that usually need to open a few more windows to get a
better view.
With
Love.

From Over There: 7.13.14 Weekly
Forecast
You have a room that houses
your soul. This room is your physical being. This room has many windows for
which to view the physical world around you. It is time to open the windows to
all possibility, to broaden perspective, and to allow a more fruitful way of
being.

Featured Question:
Q: Knowing that the windows
represent a form of knowledge, is it ever a beneficial thing to keep a window
closed? For instance, what if opening a particular window creates fear when the
individual isn’t emotionally ready to receive the information?
A.
The only way to growth is through awareness. This awareness may initially bring
emotional discomfort, but it is in the acknowledgement and desire for deeper
understanding of the lessons that awareness brings that which will move the
individual through the pain and on to a more evolved perspective. To purposely
avoid the opening to greater awareness is to stunt the growth and life process
of an individual.
